Cut Your Credit

If you've got credit card debt, start paying it off for your health.

That's right--credit card debt will affect your health as much as it will affect your wallet.

Researchers at Ohio State University interviewed almost one thousand people about their credit card debt, income, stress, and health status.  They found that the ratio of credit card debt to income level had a strong association with health status.  The more stress people reported that was related to their debt, the more problems they reported with their general health.

Researchers have known for years that there is a relationship between income and health, but this was one of the few studies to look at credit card debt and health.  Credit cards provide a new kind of debt, and it appears to be hazardous to people's overall health.
